Pimple tree story
Maharshi Dadhichi's boneless body was being cremated at the cemetery and his wife had gone mad in his ashram. Unable to bear the grief, she finally placed her three-year-old Chimurda in a drum in the Pimpal tree in her ashram and sat on her husband's cheetah. Thus, along with Maharshi Dadhichi, his wife also sacrificed herself in the battle of the gods.
Here, the baby, placed in the trunk of a pimple tree, cried out for thirst and hunger. Since he could not find anything to eat, he ate the fruit of the pimple that fell in the drum. From that day on, the fruit and leaves of the pimple tree became his food. The tree trunk became his home. Gradually, the child began to grow. He felt safe in the tree trunk.
One day, while Devarshi Narad was passing by, he saw a small boy in a Pimpal tree. Narada was surprised. They questioned the boy and took information about him from him
Narad: Hey girl, who are you?
Child: I don't know that either. That's what I want to know.
Narad: Who are your parents?
Child: I don't know. I want to know the same
Then Narada meditated and Narada was amazed by what he found out. He said, "Child, you are the son of Mahardhani Dadhichi, a Mahadani. It was with the help of your father's bones that the gods made a weapon called Vajra, and with the help of that weapon the gods were able to defeat the demons. He was only thirty-one years old when your father died."
Child: What was the cause of my father's untimely death?
Narad: Your father's Saturn continent was beginning.
Child: What could be the reason for this terrible crisis?
Narad: Mahadasa of Saturn.
Saying this, Narada named the child who lives by eating the leaves and fruits of the Pimpal tree as Pippalad and initiated him into knowledge.
After Narad left, the boy Pippalad, as Narada had told him, did great penance to Brahma and made him happy. When Brahma asked Pippalada to go upstairs, Pippalad asked him to 'burn up whoever I see at that moment'.
Brahma gave Pippalada as "Tathastu".
As soon as he got this, Pippalad first appealed to Saturn. With that Shanidev appeared. As soon as Shanidev came in front of him, Pippalad stopped his gaze on him and at the same time, Saturn's body became very inflamed and his body started burning. Seeing this, the whole universe shook. It was impossible for the gods to save Shani, the son of the sun, because of the boon given by Brahma to Pippalada. Even the real Sun God saw his son's body burning in front of his eyes and started begging Brahma for his life.
Finally, Brahman himself requested Pippalada to release Shani. But Pippalad rejected the request. In the end, Brahma agreed to give Pippalada two gifts instead of one.
But then Pippalada was happy and agreed to Brahma's request. Pippalad asked Brahma for two,
1 वर्षे Saturn will not have a place in any child's horoscope for the first five years after birth so that no child will be an orphan like me anymore.
2 अना An Pimpal tree has given shelter to an orphan like me. Therefore, a person who offers water to the Pimpal tree before sunrise will not be affected by Saturn.
Saying "Tathastu", Brahma hid from there. Then Pippalad cursed the feet of Saturn, who was burning in the fire, with his cosmic rod. Saturn's legs became paralyzed due to the impact of Brahmadanda and therefore he could not walk as seen. Henceforth, Saturn is called "Shanai: Charati ya: Shanishchar:" meaning one who walks slowly is called Shanishwar. And Saturn's body was blackened by the burning of limbs in the fire.
The mystery of why the idol of Saturn is black and why the Pimpal tree is worshiped is hidden in the above story. Later, Pippalad composed the Prashnopanishad. Even today, this Upanishad is said to be a never ending source of knowledge.
